Bearded Theory is hosted at Catton Park which is predominately flat, but the ground is grass and some areas can be uneven. We provide a managed flat Accessible Camping Area just outside of our main arena.
We provide a flexible range of services to anyone with a disability and you can choose as little and as much of what we have on offer. You do not have to camp in our Accessible area to use the facilities available as we appreciate you might want to camp in your group of friends/family.
If you are staying in a campervan or caravan you are still required to purchase a live-in vehicle pass. Passes to camp or to bring a live-in vehicle/caravan into the accessible camping area must be booked in advance. It will not be possible to issue passes to this area on the day. You are required to purchase a car parking pass via the official ticket outlets.
What we offer:
- Electric to charge wheelchairs and to plug in any medical apparatus in the Dedicated Accessible Camping Area & in the Welfare Tent – please bring the relevant connections
- Flat camping area
- Managed access camping with a dedicated team to assist in erecting tents and answer any queries
- Parking in the dedicated accessible camping area – please book a car parking ticket or campervan ticket along with your festival ticket
- Accessible toilets
- Accessible showers
- Viewing platform (Main Stage & Second Stage)
- Medical Storage
- One free carer ticket subject to approval
Due to the nature of the artists it is likely that strobe lighting will be used throughout the performances. There will not be warning immediately before a period of strobe lighting.
The Medical Centre is in the 24-hour area should you need it. The centre is manned by qualified paramedics, medical technicians and first aiders. We have several ambulances that can transport off site in the case of emergency.
We are aware that many people take prescription medication that needs to be kept chilled. We supply a fridge and safe storage in our Medical Centre. You will need to have your medication in a sealed container with your name clearly labelled on it and you will be asked to sign it in and out.
There will be a viewing platform in the Main Stage arena and in the new big top. The team based at the accessible area and in the Welfare Tent will issue access bands for the platforms to customers who need this support, whether they are camping in the accessible area or not.
The viewing platform is solely for the use of our disabled festival goers plus one other. The access ramps will be in accordance with disability regulations.
We offer a free companion ticket for anyone who receives Middle or Higher Rate DLA or the Personal Independence Payment (PIP), are aged 17+ and would not be able to come to the festival without assistance. Scanned proof will be required, and all passes issued are subject to availability. Companion tickets are not allocated to parent/guardians of children under the age of 17, as all children under 17 attending Bearded Theory must be accompanied by a responsible adult/carer. Please book your tickets as normal in the area you wish to camp, once booked, email in proof of eligibility to firstname.lastname@example.org and your free companion ticket will be approved and issued. You do not need to book a ticket for your companion we sort that for you.
