December News & Line Up Announcement

December 23, 2012 10:30 am

Festive Greetings

If you have received this newsletter the world hasn’t ended as predicted. So unfortunately the council tax and electric bills still need to be paid but on the upside Bearded Theory will still be happening in May.

Let’s get straight down to business and with that we are delighted to announce that NEW MODEL ARMY have joined the Friday line up along with NEDS ATOMIC DUSTBIN. The RUTS DC join the Saturday billing finalising the day and the LANCASHIRE HOT POTS join the Sunday line up.  We had hoped to release all the final Main Stage bands in this newsletter but regrettably we are still negotiating a contract for the final Sunday act but we hope to conclude this early in January.

This years Sunday morning slot in Tornado Town has been secured, and we are pleased that we have Australian band THE BEARDS who follow in the footsteps of Wheatus who performed this year. The Beards will make the long trip to the UK following their beard revolution music that has taken Australia by storm. To get some idea of what they will be like check out this video. A very fitting band!

We have a new stage going into the campsite and it will be our new late night venue hosting everything from Reggae DJs, Indie Disco, up & coming talent, cookery workshops, cabaret and comedy.  The stage will be located in a large marquee incorporating a Thornbridge bar, chill out cafe, picnic area and garden.  The first acts to be announced for the unnamed stage is SHANKS PONY, PETE JACKSON & JOLLY JOCK. We have no idea what to call the stage but if you have any suggestions please drop us an email to . If we choose your suggestion we will send you over some Thornbridge beer as a thank you, so please include your address on the email.

We are adding a small children’s play area into the Angels Family Camping area in 2013 and we have opened up a new field especially for caravans and trailer tents.

Tickets, as expected are selling extremely well and we are very close to selling out of live in vehicle/caravan passes.  Please note that we are not allowing tents into the campervan field next year unless accompanied with a campervan and are no bigger than a 2 man tent. Campervans bringing a tent will not be allowed to erect an awning.

That just leaves us to say thank you for your support & custom in 2012 and we hope to see you all again in May.

Have a great Christmas and fantastic New Year.

All at Bearded Theory  X
