January newsletter and line up announcement

January 26, 2015 9:50 pm

We were pipped to the post with the next announcement and that is NEW MODEL ARMY join the Saturday Pallet Stage line up. NEW MODEL ARMY need little introduction to the BT faithful and we are pleased they will be rocking the Saturday. They join Canadian Celtic punk band the MAHONES who play the same day. We have one last band to announce to finish the line-up.

In other news we welcome the legendary MR MOTIVATOR to do a Sunday morning woodland work out. Mr Motivator will then be judging the annual fake beard record attempt on the Pallet Stage. Folk band TROUBADOUR join Saturdays bill and SUPERFAST GIRLY SHOW finalise the Woodland 2015 line up.

Thursday night will be headlined by festival mascots 3 DAFT MONKEYS and joining them will be HOBO JONES & THE JUNKYARD DOGS, BAR-STEWARD SONS OF VAL DOONICAN and ZOMBIE MET GIRL. We have one more special guest to announce.

Tickets are flying out and we are down to the last 2000. If you are planning on attending this year we strongly recommend that you do not leave it too late to buy your tickets. We sold 1000 tickets in December alone.

The line-up is the strongest in the festivals history and we have made some amazing additions including the Circus and Cinema. We have another amazing venue to announce once all the paperwork has been finalised. We were recently listed as one of the best value festivals in the country and to read the full article go here.

Payment Plan ends January 30th 2015

The ticket payment plan ends January 30th 2015. Following the initial upfront payment it will allow you to spread the remaining payments over your February and March pay days. The payment plan is available on all adult and child ticket types.

To take advantage of this head over to See Tickets or to Ticket Sellers. Check the best booking fees before ordering.

Drop Off Point

We have added a drop off point so you can unload your camping gear next to the campsite! We were concerned about the distance of the car park to the campsite and with that put together a system approved by the authorities. You now need to follow drop off point signs, unload your camping equipment and then park your car in the main car park. The walk luggage free should come as nice surprise and we ask everyone to cooperate making sure you unload quickly and not to leave your car in the drop off point (which will be manned). If we can all make this work in 2015 it can be repeated in following years.

Drop Inn Teen Zone

We are delighted to have reconnected with the wonderful youth club Drop Inn. They will returning to run our new Teen Zone in 2015. It seems according to the feedback that we had previously neglected the teen age range and we feel the Drop Inns involvement will resolve this.

The Teen Zone will host an array of workshops which includes DJ Dropzone a workshop teaching how to mix records and DJ with open deck sessions, Jamsource is a live music and build-a-band workshop including live jam sessions, Attic is a urban art workshop and graffiti wall space, The Junktion Noise Box is a trash instrument building workshop with demonstrations, the U.V Arcade will be a chill out area along with a teen cocktail bar and a chance where you can get loaded up with UV for the weekend. Plus loads more to be announced.

Children’s Area

Angel Gardens and Bearded Theory have been working together for many happy years and have grown together over the years. This year we all felt we needed a little change and the Angels are having a rest from the children’s area. That’s not to say they won’t be involved, they will be bringing a new and exciting creative area to the festival. Angel Gardens thought it would be great to share an area grownups and do some more specialist activities. Both Angel Gardens and The Bearded Theory Team remain great friends and are excited to work together albeit in a different guise.

The Children’s Village in 2015 will still be in a huge area but every activity within it will be free of charge to parents. The area will be centred around a Village Green which will host an old fashioned sports day, football skills, Hu La Hooping dance shows, evening lantern parade and closed with a fire display each night. The area will host a Village Hall which will showcase magic shows, puppet shows, professional story tellers, sing-alongs, ribbon dancing, child yoga, song writing, child Uke jam and party games. We have a huge new teen area following the feedback from this year which will do all sorts of stuff including DJ workshops, build a band workshops, art workshops and have a Mocktail Bar and chill space. The area will have a large craft area with paint, glitter and craft sessions. The Baby Boo baby care tent will have an area for babies to come and play and stock all your baby essentials should you forget including microwaves for feeding the little ones. We also have a circus coming along and away from the two crazy circus shows will be doing loads of circus skills with the children. We will have a large soft play area including ball pits and ride on toys. Finally we have pamper salon doing face painting, hair braiding, fake tattoos and all will be free. The area will be supervised by qualified CRB checked play workers. We have so much more to confirm so keep checking the website!

For transparency rides such as Ferris Wheel and Helter Skelter are chargeable but are not located within the Children’s Village.
