Bearded Theory will reverberate with the sounds of classic hits including ‘Our House’, ‘Baggy Trousers’ and ‘One Step Beyond’, as we are delighted to announce that North London’s finest nutty boys, Madness will headline the main stage on Sunday night.
They are one of the UK’s best loved bands…. Achieving more than twenty chart hit singles, many of them instantly recognisable classics.
Bearded Theory are also proud to announce a number of additional main stage bookings. Alabama 3 will be returning with more of their chaotic, techno-fuelled southern (London) blues. 6Music DJ extraordinaire Don Letts will bring his legendary bulging record bag of classic tunes and Skippinish will showcase their bagpipe-infused traditional Scottish folk music. Former Dum Dum’s frontman Josh Doyle, Manchester Regge legends Nucleus Roots, Sheffield-based ‘explosive dub’ act Smiling Ivy and Yorkshire rockers Faerground Accidents have also all been added to the bill.
The Woodland appoints Twickenham indie rockers The Carnabys to support Cast, urban punk outfit Nova Twins, folk rockers Billy in the Lowground, Tarantism Acoustic, Festival icons Muddy Summers and the Dirty Field Whores, blues act Blackballed, Cornwall’s Blues Rock stalwarts Willie & the Bandits, Ska punk band Skaciety and the unique Funk & Two Tone Baby.
Last week saw the announcement of Magical Sounds 10th birthday bonanza. We welcome the legendary MEGADOG Soundsystem and club night extravaganza for a full-on Friday takeover. Residents Michael Dog, DJ Evolution and MC Teabag will be joined by a stunning line-up to provide 15 hours of MEGADOG vibe. The Legendary CJ BOLLAND – Full live show, will headline the night and will be joined alongside DJ Michael Dog, Banco De Gaia – Friday night up tempo live set, DJ Evolution, Exquisite Corpse – Live show, DJ Templehead, Tetchi – Live show, DJ Geezer / Jah Scoop, BIG UNIT – Live Manchester supergroup, DJ Rev P Dread, Back to the Planet – Live and DRUM MACHINE opening the stage.
The Saturday night of Magical Sounds has always been a colourful affair and party central. For the 10th anniversary we provide a wonderful line-up of dj and live performers to take us through to 3am. SYSTEM 7 headlines the night with a full Live show and will be supported by Ed Tangent, GAUDI – Live, YOUTH, Zetan Spore – Live show and Multiseed.
In the Afternoon – Madhatters Collective – The Preston Madhatters, Lancashire’s best kept secret underground freeparty collective have been long-term friends of Magical Sounds and Bearded Theory. Taking a step up in proceedings for the 10th anniversary, the Madhatters will host a full afternoon reggae, dancehall, ragga, jungle, breaks and car alarm bothering bass. Music makers from all over the UK will be showing off their beats, rhythms and bass lines for all you dance floor skankers out there. They will show case Serial Killaz / Felon MC – Live show, DJ Clumsy, Run Tingz Cru – DJ/MC, LaLa and the BooYaa – Live show, Mr Organized & Lunatix / Ring the Alarm
Sunday afternoon remains strongly a folk and instrumental dance music affair with 2 of the best providers of high-energy global folk, Ushti Baba and the 3 Daft Monkeys. As we move into the evening, the vibe gets more global and dubby as we prepare to finish the weekend immersed in global colour and sound. Headlining is the amazing Transglobal Underground – live plus special guests and joining them are Globular – Live, Dub Trees – Live, Kukan Dub Lagan – Live, 3 Daft MonkeysLive, DJ Indigo Herder, Ushti Baba – Live, DJ Indian Man Bhangra special and DRUM MACHINE
